The Teal Chair, Part 6?

I finally have my foam, cotton and dacron to upholster The Teal Chair. In between waiting to get it though, plans for this chair have evolved. Above is how the chair looked one of the last times we visited about it.

Since then, a couple of people have looked at and commented that yes they really like the paint job but they also liked the look of the back rest a lot too. Really, “With all those staple and nail holes?” I have thought to myself. This past weekend I had an epiphany of sorts about their comments though. I decided that I did not have to upholster the chair exactly the way I found it upholstered.

So, I took off the burlap in the center of the back rest . . .

filled in all the holes,

and sanded it down.

I have since rubbed it with the magic potion of oil and vinegar and it looks sassy! I will show you that next along with my paint job on it. Keep tuning in people I may drop a project for a while but it’s not forgotten. It’s just percolating!

Have a great rest of your day.
