About ten minutes from my house is this fun antique store, Terrace Oaks Antique Mall, that I have never visited until today. It has been on my list of places to see for quite some time and so this afternoon I decided to check it out.
Located on Maybank highway, it is 10,000 square feet and houses ninety plus booths that showcase everything from “sterling, Victorian silverplate, jewelry, books, American and European furniture, chandeliers, majolica, oyster plates, Imari, Canton, Rose Medallion, transferware, antique prints and engravings, original works of art, military items, fishing lures, distressed furniture, linens, rugs, etc.”
I loved the layout of the building and the way it rambles with different paths leading you to different booths. It is sort of like a treasure hunt going in there. I saw a neat old, oak dresser with mirror attached for $295 and a red, two-level rolling cart for $68. Both of those were the best finds as far as furniture goes.
My favorite finds though were not furniture. There is a gal in there with some great vintage clothes! Called, CoCo’s Coner, she has some fabulous floor length dresses from the seventies and a ball gown from I don’t know when but it had a sparkly, rose colored bodice and with a floor-length antique white colored krenlin skirt. She also has some blouses, jackets and hats – all worth exploring.
So, if you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, stop by the Terrace Oaks Antique Mall. You will enjoy the treasure hunt!
