In Between

Over the weekend my air compressor arrived (woohoo!!) and the upholstery staple gun will be here next week (yippee!!).

In between, I am going to work on my dining room table. I have only two chairs and have not found another two so far. So, I have decided to use two chairs already in my house. That one with the blue upholstery from my Saturday Saleing (I have been using it as my office chair) and . . .

the wood chair from the living room. I love that little wood chair.

I have some ideas on how to make it all more of a cohesive unit than it looks in these two pictures but first things first, I have get the office chair ready for painting and a bit of reupholstering.

Once the blue material was removed, I found another and another and another layer to remove until . . .

I was down to some very compressed padding. Finally, there was wood underneath with lots of staple and screw holes.

Since it was so beat up I filled in the holes with some glue.

After that, I got to work on the top part of the chair where it was coming apart.

A little more glue and a bungy cord later, it should be as good as new tomorrow and ready for a bit of paint.

Like I said, I have some ideas on how I am going to paint the chairs but I have not settled on anything permanent yet. Let me know if y’all have any thoughts!
