A Happy (belated) St. Patrick’s Day

Standard

The Southern Gent’s parents are in town this weekend. With the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade happening yesterday we figured it would be the perfect outing. So we all piled into the car at about 9:45 am yesterday and went downtown.  Easily and surprisingly, we found a parking place on King Street (below Broad Street) not far from the parade route.

Having been to a Charleston parade before, the Christmas parade (lame), I must admit I was somewhat skeptical about whether this parade would be any good. The Irish did not disappoint yesterday. We had a blast!

Everyone was clad in green. There were a few great floats, scores of cute kids, neat old cars, regal dogs, hundreds of smiles and my favorite, the Hat Ladies Society! Here are some pictures for you to see how the Irish do a parade in Charleston.
