This is Laddie. This was when he had more hair and before Dixie came along. When he used to go in the car with me pretty much everywhere I went. When he smelled better because he was not outside rolling around in the back yard in the dirt and heat with Dixie.
Yesterday though, Laddie stayed in the relative comfort of our house (the heat index was around 110 degrees so the air-conditioning was doing all it could to keep up) as I drove to exit 29 on Highway 95 to meet David’s brother and pick up David’s nieces. Laddie missed the three hour adventure there and the three hours back.
I use the term adventure loosely here. The trip was uneventful. Except for the three of us trying to get out at least one camera and take a picture of a roadside sign alerting us to the Coosawatchie exit. The name makes me laugh for some reason. It is fun to say. Try it yourself: Coo-sa-whatchie!
Anyway, I will be entertaining David’s nieces this week and we have plans to go to a few attractions around town. I will keep you up to date on the places we go and what we thought about them so that you can possibly add them to your list of things to see and do here in Charleston whether you live here or plan to visit.
Oh, and Laddie will remain at the house (where it is cool) to keep Dixie company.
